Jonathan Bloxham in Recital

J.S. Bach Cello Suites 1-3

British cellist Jonathan Bloxham has performed extensively across Europe, USA and Asia and is establishing himself as one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. He is the winner of international competitions as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor.

He has won major instrumental awards such as the Royal College of Music Cello Prize, the Guilhermina Suggia Gift and Royal Overseas League Award. In 2012 Jonathan gave his concerto debut at the Berlin Philharmonie and he has performed at the Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, Bridgewater Hall,Teatro Ristori Verona and has toured Japan and China.

Lunchtime concert
This is the second opportunity to hear Bloxham’s sublime playing in Hull, following his performance the day before for the University of Hull’s Lunchtime Concert Series on Friday 5 February 2016 at 1.15pm, also in the Lindsey Suite.
