|Haydn||Piano Trio no 39 in G (Gypsy Rondo)|
|Clara Schumann||Piano Trio in G minor op 17|
|Beethoven||Piano Trio in E flat op 70 no 2|
Clara Schumann modestly chastised herself for being a woman with the misguided impulse to compose, but she was to become one of the most outstanding and influential female musicians European classical music had known. Her piano trio was probably her greatest achievement. It is played here between Haydn’s Gypsy Rondo trio and Beethoven’s elegantly serene and intimate trio in E flat.
The Busch Ensemble has emerged as the leading British piano trio among the new generation, receiving enthusiastic responses from audiences and critics and winning prizes across the UK and Europe.
